Donations:

In 2010, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the state over fees, charges and deposits imposed on public school students.

New legislation outlining guidelines and audit procedures has since been drafted and is awaiting the governor's signature. Yet California's Constitution already affirms that students and parents cannot be required to pay money to gain access to educational activities, nor can they be charged for materials and supplies necessary to participate in educational activities.

“Educational activities” has been clearly defined to include extracurricular offerings such as music, sports and some clubs. Moreover, the rules described above apply to all affiliated groups supporting district and school programs, including PTAs, boosters and foundations.

It should be noted that the law does not prohibit schools and districts from requesting voluntary donations, and that’s how IUSD intends to preserve some of its more vital educational offerings.

Additional information can be obtained from the Irvine Unified School District website.  Click here to go the their Student Fee Information page.

The "Donate" button below will take you to the secure PayPal website where you can charge any amount on your credit card or PayPal account, if you have one.  Within PayPal there will be a free-form text area where to can define which specific sports accounts are to receive your donation.  See a list of the eligible sports accounts in the right hand column.  Donations are not a substitute for membership to the Athletic Boosters Club.  Money received for membership will pay for coaching stipends, uniforms, awards, letters, plaques, metals, etc.  Each sport must have 75% participation in the Athletic Booster Club to be eligible for the previously mentioned items.

Instructions

Athlete's Name & Grade:
Fill in your student-athlete's first and last name. Follow the name with his/her Grade Level abbreviation; see table below. If you have more than one student-athlete enter each name/Grade Level combination separated by commas. For example, John Doe, Fr, Jane Doe, Sr. This field has a limit of 60 characters.

Specify Sport(s):
This field has a limit of 60 characters. You may spell out the full name of each sport or use the abbreviations listed below. This information is required so we can determine each team's level of participation in the Booster Club. If no sport is listed, all money goes to the General Fund. If more than one sport is specified, the "team" portion of the donation is distributed evenly to all sports listed. If you want a "custom" breakdown of the "team" portion, specify how much each team receives. For example, if your student-athletes participate in girls' soccer and baseball, but you want girls' soccer to receive $30 from your Gold Membership contribution, specify Girls Soccer=$30,Baseball=$20. Use the abbreviations if space is an issue.

Buy Now:
Clicking the "Buy Now" button will send you to the PayPal secured website where you will be prompted for credit card information. The first page at PayPal will extend an invitation to you to join PayPal. Since you are there to charge your membership or Trader Card, you will want to find the continue link above the credit cards icons.

The 2nd page at PayPal will prompt you to fill in your credit card information. Fill in all the fields. Much of the information you enter (name, address, email, etc.) will be used to fill out the Booster Club roster. Your credit card numbers will not be forwarded to the Booster Club.

The 3rd page at PayPal will ask you to verify the information entered, and then click the "Pay $xx.xx Now" button. If there is extra informaton you would like to supply to the Booster Club, click on the "Note to Booster Club" tag, enter the information, then click the "Pay $xx.xx Now" button.

The 4th page at PayPal will ask you if you want to print a receipt or return to the Booster Club website. It is probably a good idea to print this page or click on the link that will provide a printable version of a receipt. When you click on the "Return" link, you will return to the "Online Store" page at the Booster Club website.
