Membership:
New this year we have introduced the Platinum Membership category. This
membership level allows you to send $200 to the team(s) of your choice. With all the new financial restrictions
we've had imposed on us, this is another way to get the necessary money to our teams. The
2011-2012 membership roster currently has 454 student-athletes representing 406 families. To view all current
members click on the Members link in the right column. The NHS Athletic Boosters Club supports all sports
programs at Northwood High School. The booster club provides the following support: Coaching stipends
(over $20,000 per year). Capital Improvements (sports fields, equipment storage, safety gear). Uniforms purchases. Championship plaques for the gym. Training
Room Maintenance and Supplies. Athletic Letters, Pins, Patches, and Certificates. Stipend for athletic trainer to insure the health and safety of our student-athletes! And
much, much more!
With budget cuts continuing to hamper our athletic budget, it is imperative
that all families of NHS student-athletics join the NHS Athletic Boosters Club!
To enroll online, go to the Online Store and register using the credit card of your choice. To enroll by

Donations: In 2010, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the state over fees, charges and
deposits imposed on public school students. New legislation outlining
guidelines and audit procedures has since been drafted and is awaiting the governor's signature. Yet California's Constitution
already affirms that students and parents cannot be required to pay money to gain access to educational activities, nor can
they be charged for materials and supplies necessary to participate in educational activities.
“Educational
activities” has been clearly defined to include extracurricular offerings such as music, sports and some clubs. Moreover,
the rules described above apply to all affiliated groups supporting district and school programs, including PTAs, boosters
and foundations. It should be noted that the law does not prohibit schools and districts from requesting
voluntary donations, and that’s how IUSD intends to preserve some of its more vital educational offerings. Additional
information can be obtained from the Irvine Unified School District website. Click here to go to their Student Fee Information page. The "Donate" button below will take you to the secure
PayPal website where you can charge any amount on your credit card or PayPal account, if you have one. Within PayPal
there will be a free-form text area where to can define which specific sports accounts are to receive your donation.
See a list of the eligible sports accounts in the right hand column. Donations are not a substitute for membership
to the Athletic Boosters Club. Money received for membership will pay for coaching stipends, uniforms,
awards, letters, plaques, metals, etc. Each sport must have 75% participation in the Athletic Booster Club to be
eligible for the previously mentioned items.
